ENSEMBLE ESPACIO SINKRO was conceived in 1985, with the creation of the Jesús Guridi Instrumental Group and the Electroacoustic Music Laboratory of the Vitoria-Gasteiz Music Conservatory. Through the years they have taken part in countless modern creative forums, presenting innovative projects and offering first performances of many contemporary works, while placing special emphasis on the integration of sound and image into the acoustic and visual venue.

Picking up where its successful experience left off, the ENSEMBLE ESPACIO SINKRO was reborn in 2005. A new project that takes in all the interests detected in the realm of new technologies applied to creativity today. The group's specialties continue to be backed by the vast performance experience of its members, whether as soloists or as parts of leading chamber or symphonic groups. At the same time the addition of new members from different artistic disciplines further broadens the creative horizons of the group.

One of the essential objectives of the ENSEMBLE ESPACIO SINKRO is to reflect the work of composers and musicians in performances especially conceived for each concert. An encounter with the diversity of the music of our times, created and performed by musicians who are committed to today's new artistic trends. Concerts that combine sound and visual elements in pieces that aim to connect and establish a sensorial interaction with the audience.

ENSEMBLE ESPACIO SINKRO is currently a resident of the SINKRO Electroacoustic Music Festival (www.sinkrofestival.com) and of the CARMELO BERNAOLA International Music Festival in Vitoria-Gasteiz. At both events they develop projects with composers, working to create and transmit new works with the aim of incorporating them into the contemporary repertoire. At the same time the group has established an international meeting point for composers and performers.

ENSEMBLE ESPACIO SINKRO has come to different concert series and international festivals with projects such as "Homenaje a Carmelo Bernaola" (Tribute to Carmelo Bernaola), " Ozendu" (Boom), "Viento del norte" (North Wind), "Mensajes cruzados" (Crossed Messages), "Oriente-Occidente" (East-West), "Perspectivas sonoras" (Sound Perspectives), "Transiciones" (Transitions), "Bertolt Brecht y la música de entreguerras" (Bertolt Brecht and the Music Between Wars), "Simpro 07", "Música y Matemáticas" (Music and Mathematics), RED, Sirius, etc. Shows that feature a mixture of instrumental works, electroacoustics, improvisation, dance, video and theatre.
